Everyone’s* favourite geek comedian Mark Watson returned to our televisions for the first time in a while on this week’s Jason Manford’s ‘Comedy Rocks.’ He reminds us just why we love him with his friendly and enthrallingly passionate connection that he makes with his audience. Mark seems less like an entertainer craving our approval and more like our slightly dorky friend who has everyone in stitches with his stories and quick wit. Watson has a ridiculously high likeability factor which means he manages to pull off risky material like insulting women without really offending anyone. We also enjoy the way that he builds up his jokes and then shoots himself down. The audience appreciate his laid back approach and feel at ease with his material because it’s not too demanding of the audience, it is simple and funny.
